‘Hami jasto kohi chaina’

‘There is no one quite like us‘.

From our very first Intake of Gurkha soldiers at our Regiment’s formation in 1958 to the present day, The Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment proudly serves in the very highest traditions of the British Army and the Brigade of Gurkhas.

Welcome to The Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment Association: your Regimental Family’s connection between those who serve today, our veterans and their families, and where the good and benefit of our capbadge is both our honour and our responsibility.

The Role and Purpose of the Association.

The Association was founded in 1962 as ‘The Gurkha Army Service Corps Association‘, changing with Regimental re-titling throughout the years, and known today as ‘The Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment Association‘.

The primary aim of the Association remains true to that for which it was conceived: to keep those who have served with The Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment in touch with those still serving, Gurkha and British officers and soldiers, and for its membership to play their full part in the activities of the Gurkha Brigade Association. Becoming a registered charity in 1996, the responsibilities of the Association have grown to deepening esprit de corps, comradeship, the welfare of the Regiment and the preservation of its traditions: our ‘Kaida’. Further, alongside support to  education and charitable works, the Association has a deep commitment to the Gurkha Welfare Trust for the relief of serving and former-serving Regimental members, and their dependents, who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress. The Association works hand in glove with fellow Regimental organisations including the QOGLR Regimental Association Nepal (RAN), the Ex-QOGLR Serviceman’s Association (UK) and the Hong Kong Ex-Serviceman’s Assocation (HKESA).

Ex TIGER ATLAS – Level 3 Expedition, Morocco

Ex TIGER ATLAS is a Level 3 expedition to summit Mt Toubkal (4,167m) in Morocco, commencing from 22 Jun to 5 Jul 2026. The team has now arrived in the remote village of Imlil — the start and finish point for the trekking phase.

Day one has been successfully completed, with the team integrating with the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces, who will join the trekking phase to strengthen defence engagement and interoperability. The programme included medical casualty evacuation drills, comms checks, route planning, acclimatisation trek and cultural awareness training — ensuring the team is fully prepared for the challenges ahead.

The team is now focused on summiting Mount Toubkal on 1 July 2026, marking the 68th Birthday of the Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment, while also delivering Summer Mountain Foundation course to six members of the team.

This demanding expedition has been meticulously planned and is being led by SSgt Sovit Baniya as OIC and Sgt Samir Rai as 2IC. Their leadership, dedication, and attention to detail are ensuring the expedition is conducted to the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

We wish the team the very best as they push towards the summit.

QOGLR Marks Its 68th Birthday with Regimental Pride

The 68th Birthday of the Queen’s Own Gurkha Logistic Regiment (QOGLR) was marked with a formal parade attended by senior military representatives. The parade was inspected by Major General Chestnut OBE (MGL), Colonel G.R. Sugden (Colonel of the Regiment), Colonel Robinson OBE (Colonel Brigade of Gurkhas), and Colonel J. Powell ADC (Corps Colonel), accompanied by Lieutenant Colonel Nick Heppenstall MBE, Commander QOGLR, and Major Vivek Shah MVO MBE, Gurkha Major QOGLR.

The occasion also incorporated the Intake 25 Kasam Khane (Oath-Taking) Parade, during which the new recruits formally swore their allegiance and commitment to military service. The event celebrated both the Regiment’s proud 68-year history and the next generation of Gurkha soldiers joining its ranks.

The Tug of War competition served as the final and decisive event of the Colonel of the Regiment Khukuri Challenge 2026. Following a series of highly competitive sporting events throughout the challenge, 1 Squadron emerged victorious in the Tug of War and were crowned overall champions of the Colonel of the Regiment Khukuri Challenge 2026.
